A little about us
We are an independent, family-run bookstore in Mountain Home. The military brought us to Mountain Home, where we decided to stay and put down roots.
When we created the store, we had a few simple requests: we wanted a place you could come that felt cozy, inviting and a little magical — a place where you could take your time perusing the shelves and be surrounded by stories.
We offer a curated selection of gently used and new books perfect for any reader! Alongside this, you can find a selection of gifts made for book lovers, and a trade - in system that helps keep great stories circulating within our community. Whether you’re searching for something specific or just wandering in, we hope Foxtail Books feels like a place you can come back to again and again.
sandie
is the owner, and the heart behind Foxtail Books. As a creative, she loves designing the space around her, hosting several book clubs and welcoming fellow readers. Sandie has several favorite genres, including historical fiction, mystery and clean romance.
chris
is Sandie’s husband and retired member of the military. Chris brings a friendly sense of humor to the bookstore. He can usually be found behind the scenes and is essential for keeping Foxtail Books alive. However, he often makes appearances at the checkout counter when needed.
emily
Daughter of Sandie and Chris, works part time at the front desk. She is also a creative, bringing energy and unique perspectives to Foxtail Books’ selections. Emily enjoys reading fantasy and thrillers and has a great eye for exciting reads.
Frank
Sandie’s dad, is also a retired military member. He is serious about his books and games, and his favorite reads include The Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan. Frank can also be found helping in the back, but steps up front when needed.
Jespyr
Jespyr, certified good girl, works part-time at the front desk. She specializes in tail wags, friendly greetings, and making people smile, and she takes her job VERY seriously!
